Jennifer (or Jen, sometimes Jenny) is the main character and narrator of the story. She is a warm hearted person, but often lonely at school and picked on by older girls. She has a deep unease with other people and always worries about being judged or disliked. Behind all this is her dyslexia that makes it difficult for her to learn to read and write.
She is fascinated by fairies, and that soon turns out to be something all too real…
